The Program We Provide
NCCER is the construction industry’s source for training, assessment, certification and career development. NCCER’s roots extend back to the early 1990s when the nation’s leading building contractors came together to address the emerging shortage of skilled workers. Over time, NCCER has expanded to become the industry-recognized source for training, assessments and certification credentials for construction craft professionals.
Introductory Core Construction course (3-4 months)
The NCCER Core Curriculum is a prerequisite to all other Level 1 craft curriculum. It cover topics such as Basic Safety, Construction Math, Hand Tools, Power Tools, and Communication and Employability Skills.
Completing this curriculum gives the trainee the basic skills to continue education in any craft area.
Individual technical fields training courses (9-12 months)
Carpentry: Carpenters make up the largest building trades occupation in the industry and those with all-around skills are constantly in high demand. Carpenters are involved in many different kinds of construction activities, from building highways and bridges to installing kitchen cabinets. Carpenters construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.
Electricity: Trained electricians are in high demand as employment is projected to grow 14 percent around the country from 2014 to 2024. Electricians install electrical systems in structures; they install wiring and other electrical components, such as circuit breaker panels, switches, and light fixtures, and they follow blueprints, the National Electrical Code® and state and local codes.
Pipefitting: There are some who may consider pipefitting synonymous with plumbing, but these are really two very distinct trades. Plumbers install and repair the water, waste disposal, drainage and gas systems. Pipefitters, install and repair both high- and low-pressure pipe systems used in manufacturing, in the heating and cooling of buildings, etc. Employment of pipefitters is projected to grow 12 percent from 2014 to 2024.
Welding: Welding is a high-tech industry that can take you places all over the world. From ladders to aircraft carriers, from NASCAR to national defense, and from the laboratory to sales and repair, the varied welding industry impacts virtually every industry. Welding is a career that is in high demand and offers more choices of industries to work in and advancement opportunities than just about any other career choice.
Training Class Schedule
Classes are currently offered 4 days a week; 4 hours a day: every Monday through Thursday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Class start time and duration per day is subject to change throughout the program.
